Marit MacDonald has been a guest lecturer multiple times in the University’s undergraduate business program. She enjoys bringing her perspective as a small business owner to these future business leaders. She focuses on key leadership skills, where to learn them, and what attributes employers look for in potential hires.
Ms. MacDonald was one of approximately 500 financial advisors who were selected by their firms to attend and participate in the conference. In 2017, she was honored to be selected as a speaker at one of the conference sessions.
The Barron's Top Women Advisors Summit is a national invitation-only conference held at The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL. This exclusive conference is designed to promote best practices and generate new ideas across the industry. Ms. MacDonald is one of an exclusive group of financial advisors who have been repeatedly selected by their firms to attend and participate in the conference.

This invitation-only event brought together the top LPL Financial-affiliated fee-based advisors in an exclusive academic setting to participate in a focused curriculum addressing a broad range of crucial advisory disciplines. As part of this year's Advisory Leaders Forum, Robert J. Shiller, winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Economic Science, joined other Yale professors to deliver cutting-edge content on topics ranging from the housing market and the economy to the changing healthcare landscape.
As a two-time Executive Vice-President of the Junior League of San Jose, Marit has long supported the Silicon Valley’s business and philanthropic communities. She has also volunteered for other nonprofits such as Junior Achievement and the Financial Planning Association. She continues to be an active volunteer and leader. She is currently serving her third year on the JLSJ’s Endowment Fund Board of Directors.
