In addition to making wonderful memories during the holiday season, almost two-thirds of Americans – including people of all income levels – make the gifts they give to family and friends. It will come as no surprise more women than men give hand-made items. If you’re looking for some great gifts to make, here are some ideas:
• Kahlua. It’s not difficult to whip up a batch of coffee-flavored liqueur. You need a decorative bottle, a personalized label, and a great recipe.
• Gifts in jars. Layer dry ingredients for cookies, soup, chai tea, or any other treat in an attractive jar. Attach the instructions to a colorful bow and tie it around the lid.
• Caramel popcorn. Homemade caramel corn is a wonderful treat, but it can be time intensive. Make it on a day when you don’t have too many other commitments.
• Fleece blankets. Hand-made fleece blankets are easy to make. They require some cutting with scissors and knowledge of simple knots.
No matter how you celebrate the holidays, we hope they will be happy and memorable!
